Welcome

The Artist 1 2 3
I
started my welding career at the age of 19. I then decided to do
an apprendiceship in this trade, which I knew would be quite a challenge.
I did everything from welding on pipelines to fabricating heavy
equipment, building very large gasoline compressor units.
Through all the obstacles and frustrations of being female in a
male dominated trade, with lots of determination, I achieved my
goal. I finished my apprenticeship in 1984.
I went to Australia in 1986 where I lived for 4 years. There I did
some ship building which was a great experience too. In 1990, I returned
back to Canada with my New Zealand husband and we resided on Gabriola
Island for 13 years, with our two daughters. I carried on my welding
career by doing all kinds of jobs - most of it being custom work -
and then went on to design and create my own pieces of art work.
I'm really interested in the ornamental iron world, for I can be really
creative with it. People who see my work have fun -- it puts a smile
on their faces.
Many customers who have bought pieces from me in the past, tell me
how much they still enjoy their sculptures and how much fun their
guests have looking at them.
My works would fit well anywhere (indoor or outdoor.) I enjoy creating
unique art work, and I'm finding it challenging and very rewarding.
I learn something new every time I do a piece of metal art and I can't
wait to do the next one.
